Electrical trace-heating for frost protection.
Water lines and process pipework can become a real problem when temperatures drop below freezing. It’s only when the thaw comes that you realise the damage a split or cracked water pipe can cause. This is when you need insulation jackets for frost protection.
In waste water treatment frozen valves and actuators can cause serious problems. A frozen valve or actuator can inhibit the processing of effluent. This can lead to critical plant failure and environmental incidents.
GEM insulation jackets can be specified with the addition of heat tracing. In addition we can add an ambient air temperature sensor. This will ensure that critical items remain operational. Gate valves and motorised actuators will remain in circuit and operational during periods of cold or freezing weather.

This installation took 2 hours to complete without any interruption to the waste water treatment plant services

The actuators and gate valves are now frost protected which will ensure that services continue as normal during periods of cold or freezing weather
