Reusable insulation jackets are commonly used in many commercial and industrial applications

- awkward pipe configurations and valves with irregular surfaces that are difficult to insulate using conventional methods
- where the insulation is removed at regular intervals for the purposes of routine maintenance, troubleshooting or surveys.
There is no trouble removing and refitting GEM’s insulation jackets and this is illustrated in the video below on a large 8” strainer which is approx. 4’ in length.
It is a simple matter of pulling on the two Nomex pull chords and then pulling open the Velcro strip fastening.
The jacket is removed in less than about 20 seconds.

Protecting People:
Insulation jackets are extremely flexible, durable, and vibration-resistant and can be installed on irregular or difficult to access surfaces.
All high temperature equipment, valves and fittings should be insulated to reduce heat loss, reduce noise and improve safety.
Employee Burns
Heat burns that would normally occur through maintenance tasks are completely eliminated. This has to be a central consideration in applying insulation jackets especially in MTHW and Steam applications.
Protecting Equipement:
It’s common in an industrial environment for equipment to frequently face extreme hot or cold.
Such extreme temperatures can lower lifespans of the equipment producing the heat, as well as the equipment nearby.
Constant heating and cooling is hard on even the toughest machinery and equipment and can cause expansion and contraction especially around joint surfaces, over time this will degrade equipment integrity.
In addition, electronic equipment such as BMS panels, VSDs and Controllers are subject to degradation in temperatures exceeding 32 °C and it is best that they operate within normal temperature ranges.
